Since 1976, Shared Experience has been instrumental in pioneering a distinctive performance style that celebrates the union of physical and text-based theatre. We are committed to creating theatre that goes beyond our everyday existence, giving form to the invisible world of emotion and imagination. Text and language plays a major part in our productions as we strive to offer our audience not only visual excitement, but also deep emotional engagement and intellectual stimulus.
We see the rehearsal process as a genuinely open forum for asking questions and taking risks that redefine the possibilities of performance. At the heart of the company's work is the power, excitement and the collaboration between actor and audience - a shared experience.
"Shared Experience is one of the most distinctive theatre companies in the land. Those who have seen the company are unlikely to forget its thrilling productions."

We hope you enjoy watching our work onstage. It's the result of an enormous amount of careful preparation but this represents only part of what we achieve. Central to our work are the learning activities we offer including workshops for schools/colleges, and the pre- and post-show talks with members of the company each week on tour, at which school parties, groups and individuals gain a unique insight into the production process. We also offer workshops on the Shared Experience process.
We need your support to ensure our future; we are not a regularly grant-funded organisation and have to raise approximately £300,000 to enable us to produce each tour, and provide the extensive supporting educational activity around the production.
By becoming a supporter of Shared Experience you will directly help us to continue our commitment to excellence both onstage and in our work with young people. We welcome and value any contribution you can make from £1 to £300,000. Thank you for your support.
