Shared Experience's Education Department offers a comprehensive package to support and explore the company's work with schools, college groups and interested individuals. The Education Creative Team brings skills and techniques straight from the rehearsal room to form the basis of all the work: feeding a unique approach into workshops, discussion groups, special events and one-off projects.
Workshops are available on all touring productions, providing a closer look at the creative process behind the script and production. If the play is featured on a relevant syllabus, due attention will be given to exam preparations by Shared Experience's Education Team. The workshops are practical and are unique to Shared Experience and the philosophy of the company.
NB: Participants must see a performance before undertaking a production-based workshop.
These intensive workshops give schools, actors and directors an insight into the Shared Experience rehearsal process, sharing key exercises that are at the heart of the company's expressionistic approach, including creating an ensemble and using movement to explore the meaning behind text. Process Workshops are an invaluable opportunity for anyone interested in engaging further with the company and its work.
Please email us with your name, contact details and CV to register your interest in participating in the next Shared Experience Process Workshop.
Shared Experience is now a recommended practitioner on the AQA syllabus
(Ref: AQA, Drama and Theatre Studies, AS & A level, 3.2, Unit 2, Presentation of an Extract from a Play.)
Held after a performance, these events provide time for an open forum between the audience and company.

This offers a chance for students to gain an insight into the rehearsal processes behind the production. Theatre Days are led by an Education Associate, who takes members of the cast through rehearsal exercises and scene work, asking for the audiences feedback along the way. There is also a chance for Q&A and for students to come on stage to experience working with the professionals themselves.
Theatre Days last for 2 hours and take place in the auditorium during the afternoon of selected performance days.
